Any special occasion is incomplete without good food and good drinks. It was our first anniversary and we wanted to have dinner at a "not-so-regular" place. We were staying at "The Village" for the occasion and decided to stroll across the street to explore a new dining place.
Tequilla Blue is located at the end of Changi Village Road and hence, may go unnoticed if a person is not familiar with the area. It is a Mexican restaurant that offers a wide variety of Mexican delicacies and a range of liquors. My husband tried out Flying Dog Beer and I had a Mojito - both were well-made drinks. The place is not crowded and if one wants to have a quite dinner, this is the place might serve the purpose.
The food was delicious and the service was worth mentioning about. We tried Chicken Fajitas and Cheese Quasidellas, both delicious. The Fajitas were well cooked with boneless chicken pieces and mixed vegetables. The portion was sufficient for 2 people to share 1 dish unless one has a big appetite. The Fajitas come with 4 pita breads. The cheese quasidellas had the right proportion of cheese with vegetables. Most importantly, the food was well-cooked. They also have vegetarian options for the green-lovers. Overall, it was a nice experience there.
What is worth mentioning is our second visit to the place with a couple of friends. We landed in Changi Village around 12am and as expected all the places had run out of food or had closed. Tequilla Blue was closing when we stood at the doors. With a smile, the staff opened the restaurant and offered us a place. We ordered our food and were craving for some scrambled eggs out of the menu card. He not only sprinted across the road to the nearby 7-11 store and bought the supplies but also helped prepare the scrambled eggs.
The food and drinks again lived up to the expectations. The service was exemplary. Recommended to people who want a quiet evening out with a small group.
